On the Cubic Bottleneck in Subtyping and Flow Analysis

چکیده
We prove that certain data-flow and control-flow problems are 2NPDA-complete. This means that these problems are in the class 2NPDA and that they are hard for that class. The fact that they are in 2NPDA demonstrates the richness of the class. The fact that they are hard for 2NPDA can be interpreted as evidence they can not be solved in sub-cubic time — the cubic time decision procedure for an arbitrary 2NPDA problem has not been improved since its discovery

Improving for Drum_Buffer_Rope material flow management with attention to second bottlenecks and free goods in a job shop environment
Drum–Buffer–Rope is a theory of constraints production planning methodology that operates by developing a schedule for the system’s first bottleneck. The first bottleneck is the bottleneck with the highest utilization. In the theory of constraints, any job that is not processed at the first bottleneck is referred to as a free good. Free goods do not use capacity at the first bottleneck, so very...
متن کاملCapacity Inverse Minimum Cost Flow Problem under the Weighted Hamming Distances
Given an instance of the minimum cost flow problem, a version of the corresponding inverse problem, called the capacity inverse problem, is to modify the upper and lower bounds on arc flows as little as possible so that a given feasible flow becomes optimal to the modified minimum cost flow problem. The modifications can be measured by different distances. In this article, we consider the capac...
متن کاملSolving Re-entrant No-wait Flow Shop Scheduling Problem
In this study, we consider the production environment of no-wait reentrant flow shop with the objective of minimizing makespan of the jobs. In a reentrant flow shop, at least one job should visit at least one of the machines more than once. In a no-wait flowshop scheduling problem, when the process of a specific job begins on the first machine, it should constantly be processed without waiting ...
متن کاملExperimental Evaluation of Latency Induced in Real-Time Traffic by TCP Congestion Control Algorithms
This report contains an experimental evaluation of the impact that congestion control algorithms NewReno, HTCP and CUBIC have on the latency of VoIP traffic. It was found that when a TCP flow and VoIP flow share a bottleneck link the induced delay in the VoIP flow is related to the growth of the congestion window. CUBIC induced the highest average latency in the VoIP flow and HTCP the least.
